Genesis 28:10-to-end.

10 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Jacob's Vow at Bethel. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
11 He came to a certain place, and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. He took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep.
12 He dreamed. Behold, a stairway set upon the earth, and its top reached to heaven. Behold, the angels of ELOHIM ascending and descending on it.
13 Behold, YHWH stood above it, and said, “I am YHWH, the ELOHIM of Abraham your father, and the ELOHIM of Isaac. The land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed.
14 Your seed will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. In you and in your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.
15 Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”
16 Jacob awakened out of his sleep, and he said, “Surely YHWH is in this place, and I didn’t know it.”
17 He was afraid, and said, “How dreadful is this place! This is none other than ELOHIM’s house, and this is the gate of heaven.”
18 Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on its top.
19 He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.
20 Jacob vowed a vow, saying, “If ELOHIM will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on,
21 so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, and YHWH will be my ELOHIM,
22 then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be ELOHIM’s house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give the tenth to you.”

Monday. Day 2 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayeitzei - And He Departed.

Genesis 29  John 1.

Genesis 29.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Jacob Meets Rachel. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Then Jacob went on his journey, and came to the land of the children of the east.
2 He looked, and behold, a well in the field, and, behold, three flocks of sheep lying there by it. For out of that well they watered the flocks. The stone on the well’s mouth was large.
3 There all the flocks were gathered. They rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again on the well’s mouth in its place.
4 Jacob said to them, “My relatives, where are you from?” They said, “We are from Haran.”
5 He said to them, “Do you know Laban, the son of Nahor?” They said, “We know him.”
6 He said to them, “Is it well with him?” They said, “It is well. See, Rachel, his daughter, is coming with the sheep.”
7 He said, “Behold, it is still the middle of the day, not time to gather the livestock together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”
8 They said, “We can’t, until all the flocks are gathered together, and they roll the stone from the well’s mouth. Then we water the sheep.”
9 While he was yet speaking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she kept them.
10 It happened, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban, his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban, his mother’s brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother.
11 Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.
12 Jacob told Rachel that he was her father’s brother, and that he was Rebekah’s son. She ran and told her father.
13 It happened, when Laban heard the news of Jacob, his sister’s son, that he ran to meet Jacob, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. Jacob told Laban all these things.
14 Laban said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” He lived with him for a month.

15
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Jacob Marries Leah and Rachel. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my brother, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what will your wages be?”
16 Laban had two daughters. The name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.
17 Leah’s eyes were weak, but Rachel was beautiful in form and attractive.
18 Jacob loved Rachel. He said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.”
19 Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you, than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.”
20 Jacob served seven years for Rachel. They seemed to him but a few days, for the love he had for her.
21 Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in to her.”
22 Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.
23 It happened in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him. He went in to her.
24 Laban gave Zilpah his handmaid to his daughter Leah for a handmaid.
25 It happened in the morning that, behold, it was Leah. He said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”
26 Laban said, “It is not done so in our place, to give the younger before the firstborn.
27 Fulfill the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you will serve with me yet seven other years.”
28 Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week. He gave him Rachel his daughter as wife.
29 Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah, his handmaid, to be her handmaid.
30 He went in also to Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

31
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Children of Jacob. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

YHWH saw that Leah was hated, and he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.
32 Leah conceived, and bore a son, and she named him Reuben. For she said, “Because YHWH has looked at my affliction. For now my husband will love me.”
33 She conceived again, and bore a son, and said, “Because YHWH has heard that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also.” She named him Simeon.
34 She conceived again, and bore a son. Said, “Now this time will my husband be joined to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore was his name called Levi.
35 She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “This time will I praise YHWH!” Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing.

John 1.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Eternal Word. .          The Good News According to John! \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with ELOHIM, and the Word was ELOHIM!
2 The same was in the beginning with ELOHIM!
3 All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made.
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.

6
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. John's Witness: The True Light. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

There came a man, sent from ELOHIM, whose name was John.
7 The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him.
8 He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light.
9 The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him.
11 He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.
12 But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become ELOHIM’s children, to those who believe in his name:
13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of ELOHIM!

14
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Word Becomes Flesh. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 John testified about him. He cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.’”
16 From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.
17 For the Torah was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through YESHUA the Messiah.
18 No one has seen ELOHIM at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

19
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. A Voice in the Wilderness. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

This is John’s testimony, when the Judeans sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
20 He declared, and didn’t deny, but he declared, “I am not the Messiah.”
21 They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.”
22 They said therefore to him, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”
23 He said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of ADONAI,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”
24 The ones who had been sent were from the Pharisees.
25 They asked him, “Why then do you immerse, if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”
26 John answered them, “I immerse in water, but among you stands one whom you don’t know.
27 He is the one who comes after me, who is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to loosen.”
28 These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was immersing.

29
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Lamb of ELOHIM. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

The next day, he saw YESHUA coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of ELOHIM, who takes away the sin of the world!
30 This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who is preferred before me, for he was before me.’
31 I didn’t know him, but for this reason I came immersing in water: that he would be revealed to Israel.”
32 John testified, saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.
33 I didn’t recognize him, but he who sent me to immerse in water, he said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he who immerses in the Holy Spirit.’
34 I have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of ELOHIM!”

35
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The First Disciples. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Again, the next day, John was standing with two of his disciples,
36 and he looked at YESHUA as he walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of ELOHIM!”
37 The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed YESHUA!
38 YESHUA turned, and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”
39 He said to them, “Come, and see.” They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.
40 One of the two who heard John, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
41 He first found his own brother, Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is, being interpreted, Anointed One).
42 He brought him to YESHUA! YESHUA looked at him, and said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Kefa” (which is by interpretation, Peter).

43
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Philip and Nathanael. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. YESHUA said to him, “Follow me.”
44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him, of whom Moses in the Torah, and the Prophets, wrote: YESHUA of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
46 Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
47 YESHUA saw Nathanael coming to him, and said about him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”
48 Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” YESHUA answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig-tree, I saw you.”
49 Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of ELOHIM! You are King of Israel!”
50 YESHUA answered him, “Because I told you, ‘I saw you underneath the fig-tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these!”
51 He said to him, “Most certainly, I tell you, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of ELOHIM ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

Tuesday. Day 3 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayeitzei - And He Departed.

Genesis 30,  John 2.

Genesis 30.

1 When Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister. She said to Jacob, “Give me children, or else I will die.”
2 Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel, and he said, “Am I in ELOHIM’s place, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”
3 She said, “Behold, my maid Bilhah. Go in to her, that she may bear on my knees, and I also may obtain children by her.”
4 She gave him Bilhah her handmaid as wife, and Jacob went in to her.
5 Bilhah conceived, and bore Jacob a son.
6 Rachel said, “ELOHIM has judged me, and has also heard my voice, and has given me a son.” Therefore called she his name Dan.
7 Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid, conceived again, and bore Jacob a second son.
8 Rachel said, “With mighty wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and have prevailed.” She named him Naphtali.
9 When Leah saw that she had finished bearing, she took Zilpah, her handmaid, and gave her to Jacob as a wife.
10 Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid, bore Jacob a son.
11 Leah said, “How fortunate!” She named him Gad.
12 Zilpah, Leah’s handmaid, bore Jacob a second son.
13 Leah said, “Happy am I, for the daughters will call me happy.” She named him Asher.
14 Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them to his mother, Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, “Please give me some of your son’s mandrakes.”
15 She said to her, “Is it a small matter that you have taken away my husband? Would you take away my son’s mandrakes, also?” Rachel said, “Therefore he will lie with you tonight for your son’s mandrakes.”
16 Jacob came from the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, “You must come in to me; for I have surely hired you with my son’s mandrakes.” He lay with her that night.
17 ELOHIM listened to Leah, and she conceived, and bore Jacob a fifth son.
18 Leah said, “ELOHIM has given me my hire, because I gave my handmaid to my husband.” She named him Issachar.
19 Leah conceived again, and bore a sixth son to Jacob.
20 Leah said, “ELOHIM has endowed me with a good dowry. Now my husband will live with me, because I have borne him six sons.” She named him Zebulun.
21 Afterwards, she bore a daughter, and named her Dinah.
22 ELOHIM remembered Rachel, and ELOHIM listened to her, and opened her womb.
23 She conceived, bore a son, and said, “ELOHIM has taken away my reproach.”
24 She named him Joseph, saying, “May YHWH add another son to me.”

25
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Jacob's Wealth Increases. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

It happened, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said to Laban, “Send me away, that I may go to my own place, and to my country.
26 Give me my wives and my children for whom I have served you, and let me go; for you know my service with which I have served you.”
27 Laban said to him, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, stay here, for I have divined that YHWH has blessed me for your sake.”
28 He said, “Appoint me your wages, and I will give it.”
29 He said to him, “You know how I have served you, and how your livestock have fared with me.
30 For it was little which you had before I came, and it has increased to a multitude. YHWH has blessed you wherever I turned. Now when will I provide for my own house also?”
31 He said, “What shall I give you?” Jacob said, “You shall not give me anything. If you will do this thing for me, I will again feed your flock and keep it.
32 I will pass through all your flock today, removing from there every speckled and spotted one, and every black one among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats. This will be my hire.
33 So my righteousness will answer for me hereafter, when you come concerning my hire that is before you. Every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and black among the sheep, that might be with me, will be counted stolen.”
34 Laban said, “Behold, let it be according to your word.”
35 That day, he removed the male goats that were streaked and spotted, and all the female goats that were speckled and spotted, every one that had white in it, and all the black ones among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.
36 He set three days’ journey between himself and Jacob, and Jacob fed the rest of Laban’s flocks.
37 Jacob took to himself rods of fresh poplar, almond, plane tree, peeled white streaks in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.
38 He set the rods which he had peeled opposite the flocks in the gutters in the watering-troughs where the flocks came to drink. They conceived when they came to drink.
39 The flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks produced streaked, speckled, and spotted.
40 Jacob separated the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the streaked and all the black in the flock of Laban: and he put his own droves apart, and didn’t put them into Laban’s flock.
41 It happened, whenever the stronger of the flock conceived, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the flock in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods;
42 but when the flock were feeble, he didn’t put them in. So the feebler were Laban’s, and the stronger Jacob’s.
43 The man increased exceedingly, and had large flocks, female servants and male servants, and camels and donkeys.

John 2.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Water Turned to Wine. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. YESHUA’s mother was there.
2 YESHUA also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage.
3 When the wine ran out, YESHUA’s mother said to him, “They have no wine.”
4 YESHUA said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”
6 Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes apiece.
7 YESHUA said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” They filled them up to the brim.
8 He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it.
9 When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11 This beginning of his signs YESHUA did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
12 After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days.

13
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. YESHUA Cleanses the Temple. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

The Passover in Judea was at hand, and YESHUA went up to Jerusalem.
14 He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
15 He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables.
16 To those who sold the doves, he said, “Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace!”
17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.”
18 The Judeans therefore answered him, “What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”
19 YESHUA answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20 The Judeans therefore said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple! Will you raise it up in three days?”
21 But he spoke of the temple of his body.
22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture, and the word which YESHUA had said.

23
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Discerner of Hearts. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.
24 But YESHUA didn’t trust himself to them, because he knew everyone,
25 and because he didn’t need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.

Wednesday. Day 4 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayeitzei - And He Departed.

Genesis 31.,32:1-2. (JPS=Genesis 31:1-32:3),  John 3.

Genesis 31.,32:1-2. (JPS=Genesis 31:1-32:3).

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Jacob Flees from Laban. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

He heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, “Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s. From that which was our father’s, has he gotten all this wealth.”
2 Jacob saw the expression on Laban’s face, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.
3 YHWH said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your fathers, and to your relatives, and I will be with you.”
4 Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field to his flock,
5 and said to them, “I see the expression on your father’s face, that it is not toward me as before; but the ELOHIM of my father has been with me.
6 You know that I have served your father with all of my strength.
7 Your father has deceived me, and changed my wages ten times, but ELOHIM didn’t allow him to hurt me.
8 If he said this, ‘The speckled will be your wages,’ then all the flock bore speckled. If he said this, ‘The streaked will be your wages,’ then all the flock bore streaked.
9 Thus ELOHIM has taken away your father’s livestock, and given them to me.
10 It happened during mating season that I lifted up my eyes, and saw in a dream, and behold, the male goats which leaped on the flock were streaked, speckled, and grizzled.
11 The angel of ELOHIM said to me in the dream, ‘Jacob,’ and I said, ‘Here I am.’
12 He said, ‘Now lift up your eyes, and behold, all the male goats which leap on the flock are streaked, speckled, and grizzled, for I have seen all that Laban does to you.
13 I am the ELOHIM of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar, where you vowed a vow to me. Now arise, get out from this land, and return to the land of your birth.’”
14 Rachel and Leah answered him, “Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house?
15 Aren’t we accounted by him as foreigners? For he has sold us, and has also quite devoured our money.
16 For all the riches which ELOHIM has taken away from our father, that is ours and our children’s. Now then, whatever ELOHIM has said to you, do.”
17 Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives on the camels,
18 and he took away all his livestock, and all his possessions which he had gathered, including the livestock which he had gained in Paddan Aram, to go to Isaac his father, to the land of Canaan.
19 Now Laban had gone to shear his sheep: and Rachel stole the teraphim that were her father’s.
20 Jacob deceived Laban the Syrian, in that he didn’t tell him that he was running away.
21 So he fled with all that he had. He rose up, passed over the River, and set his face toward the mountain of Gilead.

22
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Laban Pursues Jacob. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Laban was told on the third day that Jacob had fled.
23 He took his relatives with him, and pursued after him seven days’ journey. He overtook him in the mountain of Gilead.
24 ELOHIM came to Laban, the Syrian, in a dream of the night, and said to him, “Take heed to yourself that you don’t speak to Jacob either good or bad.”
25 Laban caught up with Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mountain, and Laban with his relatives encamped in the mountain of Gilead.
26 Laban said to Jacob, “What have you done, that you have deceived me, and carried away my daughters like captives of the sword?
27 Why did you flee secretly, and deceive me, and didn’t tell me, that I might have sent you away with mirth and with songs, with tambourine and with harp;
28 and didn’t allow me to kiss my sons and my daughters? Now have you done foolishly.
29 It is in the power of my hand to hurt you, but the ELOHIM of your father spoke to me last night, saying, ‘Take heed to yourself that you don’t speak to Jacob either good or bad.’
30 Now, you want to be gone, because you greatly longed for your father’s house, but why have you stolen my idol_gods?”
31 Jacob answered Laban, “Because I was afraid, for I said, ‘Lest you should take your daughters from me by force.’
32 Anyone you find your idol_gods with shall not live. Before our relatives, discern what is yours with me, and take it.” For Jacob didn’t know that Rachel had stolen them.
33 Laban went into Jacob’s tent, into Leah’s tent, and into the tent of the two female servants; but he didn’t find them. He went out of Leah’s tent, and entered into Rachel’s tent.
34 Now Rachel had taken the teraphim, put them in the camel’s saddle, and sat on them. Laban felt about all the tent, but didn’t find them.
35 She said to her father, “Don’t let my master be angry that I can’t rise up before you; for I’m having my period.” He searched, but didn’t find the teraphim.
36 Jacob was angry, and argued with Laban. Jacob answered Laban, “What is my trespass? What is my sin, that you have hotly pursued after me?
37 Now that you have felt around in all my stuff, what have you found of all your household stuff? Set it here before my relatives and your relatives, that they may judge between us two.
38 “These twenty years I have been with you. Your ewes and your female goats have not cast their young, and I haven’t eaten the rams of your flocks.
39 That which was torn of animals, I didn’t bring to you. I bore its loss. Of my hand you required it, whether stolen by day or stolen by night.
40 This was my situation: in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep fled from my eyes.
41 These twenty years I have been in your house. I served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years for your flock, and you have changed my wages ten times.
42 Unless the ELOHIM of my father, the ELOHIM of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. ELOHIM has seen my affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last night.”

43
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Laban's Covenant with Jacob. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Laban answered Jacob, “The daughters are my daughters, the children are my children, the flocks are my flocks, and all that you see is mine: and what can I do this day to these my daughters, or to their children whom they have borne?
44 Now come, let us make a covenant, you and I; and let it be for a witness between me and you.”
45 Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.
46 Jacob said to his relatives, “Gather stones.” They took stones, and made a heap. They ate there by the heap.
47 Laban called it Jegar Sahadutha, but Jacob called it Galeed.
48 Laban said, “This heap is witness between me and you this day.” Therefore it was named Galeed
49 and Mizpah, for he said, “YHWH watch between me and you, when we are absent one from another.
50 If you afflict my daughters, or if you take wives besides my daughters, no man is with us; behold, ELOHIM is witness between me and you.”
51 Laban said to Jacob, “See this heap, and see the pillar, which I have set between me and you.
52 May this heap be a witness, and the pillar be a witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and that you will not pass over this heap and this pillar to me, for harm.
53 The ELOHIM of Abraham, and the ELOHIM of Nahor, the ELOHIM of their father, judge between us.” Then Jacob swore by the fear of his father, Isaac.
54 Jacob offered a sacrifice in the mountain, and called his relatives to eat bread. They ate bread, and stayed all night in the mountain.
55 Early in the morning, Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them. Laban departed and returned to his place.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Esau Comes to Meet Jacob. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Jacob went on his way, and the angels of ELOHIM met him.
2 When he saw them, Jacob said, “This is ELOHIM’s army.” He called the name of that place Mahanaim.

John 3.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The New Birth. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Judeans.
2 The same came to him by night, and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from ELOHIM, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless ELOHIM is with him.”
3 YESHUA answered him, “Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see the Kingdom of ELOHIM!”
4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?”
5 YESHUA answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into the Kingdom of ELOHIM!
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’
8 The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
9 Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?”
10 YESHUA answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things?
11 Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know, and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness.
12 If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13 No one has ascended into heaven, but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For ELOHIM so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
17 For ELOHIM didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
18 He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of ELOHIM!
19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.
20 For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.
21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in ELOHIM!”

\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. John the Immerser Exalts Messiah. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

After these things, YESHUA came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them, and immersed.
23 John also was immersing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. They came, and were immersed.
24 For John was not yet thrown into prison.
25 There arose therefore a questioning on the part of John’s disciples with some Judeans about purification.
26 They came to John, and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, the same immerses, and everyone is coming to him.”
27 John answered, “A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given him from heaven.
28 You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah,’ but, ‘I have been sent before him.’
29 He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. This, my joy, therefore is made full.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
31 He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
32 What he has seen and heard, of that he testifies; and no one receives his witness.
33 He who has received his witness has set his seal to this, that ELOHIM is true.
34 For he whom ELOHIM has sent speaks the words of ELOHIM; for ELOHIM gives the Spirit without measure.
35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.
36 One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of ELOHIM remains on him.”

Thursday. Day 5 before Shabbat -  Parasha Vayeitzei - And He Departed.

Hosea 11:7-to-end. (JPS=Genesis 31:1-32:3),   Hosea 12:1-11. (JPS=Hosea 12:1-12).

Haftarah:

Hosea 11:7-to-end.

7 My people are determined to turn from me.  Though they call to the Most High,  he certainly won’t exalt them.
8 “How can I give you up, Ephraim?  How can I hand you over, Israel?  How can I make you like Admah?  How can I make you like Zeboiim?  My heart is turned within me,  my compassion is aroused.
9 I will not execute the fierceness of my anger.  I will not return to destroy Ephraim:  for I am El, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of you;  and I will not come in wrath.
10 They will walk after YHWH,  who will roar like a lion;  for he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west.
11 They will come trembling like a bird out of Egypt,  and like a dove out of the land of Assyria;  and I will settle them in their houses,” says YHWH!

12
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. ELOHIM's Charge Against Ephraim. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Ephraim surrounds me with falsehood,  and the house of Israel with deceit.  Judah still strays from ELOHIM,  and is unfaithful to the Holy One.

Hosea 12:1-11. (JPS=Hosea 12:1-12).

1 Ephraim feeds on wind,  and chases the east wind.  He continually multiplies lies and desolation.  They make a covenant with Assyria,  and oil is carried into Egypt.
2 YHWH also has a controversy with Judah,  and will punish Jacob according to his ways;  according to his deeds he will repay him.
3 In the womb he took his brother by the heel;  and in his manhood he contended with ELOHIM!
4 Indeed, he struggled with the angel, and prevailed;  he wept, and made supplication to him.  He found him at Bethel, and there he spoke with us,
5 even YHWH, the ELOHIM of Hosts;  YHWH is his name of renown!
6 Therefore turn to your ELOHIM!  Keep kindness and justice,  and wait continually for your ELOHIM!
7 A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand.  He loves to defraud.
8 Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich,  I have found myself wealth.  In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”
9 “But I am YHWH your ELOHIM from the land of Egypt.  I will yet again make you dwell in tents,  as in the days of the solemn feast.
10 I have also spoken to the prophets,  and I have multiplied visions;  and by the ministry of the prophets I have used parables.
11 If Gilead is wicked,  surely they are worthless.  In Gilgal they sacrifice bulls.  Indeed, their altars are like heaps in the furrows of the field.

Friday. Day 6 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayeitzei - And He Departed.

John 4:1-42.

John 4:1-42.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. A Samaritan Woman Meets Her Messiah. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Therefore when ADONAI knew that the Pharisees had heard that YESHUA was making and immersing more disciples than John
2 (although YESHUA himself didn’t immerse, but his disciples),
3 he left Judea, and departed into Galilee.
4 He needed to pass through Samaria.
5 So he came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son, Joseph.
6 Jacob’s well was there. YESHUA therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. YESHUA said to her, “Give me a drink.”
8 For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
9 The Samaritan woman therefore said to him, “How is it that you, being a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
10 YESHUA answered her, “If you knew the gift of ELOHIM, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
11 The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. From where then have you that living water?
12 Are you greater than our father, Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, as did his children, and his livestock?”
13 YESHUA answered her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again,
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst again; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I don’t get thirsty, neither come all the way here to draw.”
16 YESHUA said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
17 The woman answered, “I have no husband.” YESHUA said to her, “You said well, ‘I have no husband,’
18 for you have had five husbands; and he whom you now have is not your husband. This you have said truly.”
19 The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.”
21 YESHUA said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour comes, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, will you worship the Father.
22 You worship that which you don’t know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
23 But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshippers.
24 ELOHIM is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah comes,” (he who is called Anointed One). “When he has come, he will declare to us all things.”
26 YESHUA said to her, “I am he, the one who speaks to you.”

27
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Whitened Harvest. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

At this, his disciples came. They marveled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no one said, “What are you looking for?” or, “Why do you speak with her?”
28 So the woman left her water pot, and went away into the city, and said to the people,
29 “Come, see a man who told me everything that I did. Can this be the Messiah?”
30 They went out of the city, and were coming to him.
31 In the meanwhile, the disciples urged him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.”
33 The disciples therefore said one to another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?”
34 YESHUA said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.
35 Don’t you say, ‘There are yet four months until the harvest?’ Behold, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and look at the fields, that they are white for harvest already.
36 He who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit to eternal life; that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
37 For in this the saying is true, ‘One sows, and another reaps.’
38 I sent you to reap that for which you haven’t labored. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”

39
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Savior of the World. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

From that city many of the Samaritans believed in him because of the word of the woman, who testified, “He told me everything that I did.”
40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed there two days.
41 Many more believed because of his word.
42 They said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Messiah, the Savior of the world.”

Saturday;  Shabbat - Parasha Vayeitzei - And He Departed.

John 4:43-to-end.

John 4:43-to-end.

43 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Welcome at Galilee. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

After the two days he went out from there and went into Galilee.
44 For YESHUA himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
45 So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast, for they also went to the feast.

46
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. A Nobleman's Song of Solomon Healed. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

YESHUA came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water into wine. There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that YESHUA had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to him, and begged him that he would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.
48 YESHUA therefore said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe.”
49 The nobleman said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”
50 YESHUA said to him, “Go your way. Your son lives.” The man believed the word that YESHUA spoke to him, and he went his way.
51 As he was now going down, his servants met him and reported, saying “Your child lives!”
52 So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him.”
53 So the father knew that it was at that hour in which YESHUA said to him, “Your son lives.” He believed, as did his whole house.
54 This is again the second sign that YESHUA did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
