Pesach
1- Passover 1(Matzot 1 - First Day of Unleavened Bread) (Yom HaBikkurim - Feast
of First Fruits).
Exodus
12:21-51, Numbers 28:16-25, Joshua 5:2-end,6:1,6:27, Luke 22:7-20.
Exodus
12:21-51.
21 Then Moses called for all the
elders of Israel, and said to them, “Draw out, and take lambs according to your
families, and kill the Passover.
22 You shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it
in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts
with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door
of his house until the morning.
23 For YHWH will pass through to strike the
Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two doorposts,
YHWH will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to
your houses to strike you.
24 You shall observe this thing for an
ordinance to you and to your sons forever.
25 It shall happen when you have come to the
land which YHWH will give you, according as he has promised, that you shall
keep this service.
26 It will happen, when your children ask you,
‘What do you mean by this service?’
27 that you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of
YHWH’s Passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt,
when he struck the Egyptians, and spared our houses.’” The people bowed their
heads and worshiped.
28 The children of Israel went and did so; as
YHWH had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
29 . The Tenth Plague: Death of the
Firstborn. .
It happened at midnight, that YHWH
struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh
who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon;
and all the firstborn of livestock.
30 Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all
his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for
there was not a house where there was not one dead.
31 . The Exodus. .
He called for Moses and Aaron by
night, and said, “Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the
children of Israel; and go, serve YHWH, as you have said!
32 Take both your flocks and your herds, as you
have said, and be gone; and bless me also!”
33 The Egyptians were urgent with the people,
to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, “We are all dead men.”
34 The people took their dough before it was
leavened, their kneading troughs being bound up in their clothes on their
shoulders.
35 The children of Israel did according to the
word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of
gold, and clothing.
36 YHWH gave the people favor in the sight of
the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. They despoiled the
Egyptians.
37 The children of Israel traveled from Rameses
to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, besides children.
38 A mixed multitude went up also with them,
with flocks, herds, and even very much livestock.
39 They baked unleavened cakes of the dough
which they brought out of Egypt; for it wasn’t leavened, because they were
thrust out of Egypt, and couldn’t wait, neither had they prepared for
themselves any food.
40 Now the time that the children of Israel
lived in Egypt was four hundred thirty years.
41 It happened at the end of four hundred
thirty years, even the same day it happened, that all the armies of YHWH went
out from the land of Egypt.
42 It is a night to be much observed to YHWH
for bringing them out from the land of Egypt. This is that night of YHWH, to be
much observed of all the children of Israel throughout their generations.
43 . Passover Regulations. .
YHWH said to Moses and Aaron,
“This is the ordinance of the Passover. No foreigner shall eat of it,
44 but every man’s servant who is bought for
money, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat of it.
45 A foreigner and a hired servant shall not
eat of it.
46 In one house shall it be eaten; you shall
not carry out anything of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall you
break a bone of it.
47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep
it.
48 When a stranger shall live as a foreigner
with you, and will keep the Passover to YHWH, let all his males be circumcised,
and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one who is born in
the land: but no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.
49 One Torah (teaching and instruction) shall
be to him who is born at home, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner
among you.”
50 All the children of Israel did so. As YHWH
commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.
51 It happened the same day, that YHWH brought
the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
Numbers
28:16-25.
16 . Offerings at Passover. .
“‘In the first month, on the
fourteenth day of the month, is YHWH’s Passover.
17 On the fifteenth day of this month shall be
a feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.
18 In the first day shall be a holy
convocation: you shall do no servile work;
19 but you shall offer an offering made by
fire, a burnt offering to YHWH: two young bulls, and one ram, and seven male
lambs a year old; they shall be to you without blemish;
20 and their meal offering, fine flour mixed
with oil: you shall offer three tenth parts for a bull, and two tenth parts for
the ram.
21 You shall offer a tenth part for every lamb
of the seven lambs;
22 and one male goat for a sin offering, to
make atonement for you.
23 You shall offer these besides the burnt
offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering.
24 In this way you shall offer daily, for seven
days, the food of the offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to YHWH: it
shall be offered besides the continual burnt offering, and the drink offering
of it.
25 On the seventh day you shall have a holy
convocation: you shall do no servile work.
Joshua
5:2-end,6:1,6:27.
2 At that time, YHWH said to
Joshua, “Make flint knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the
second time.”
3 Joshua made himself flint knives, and
circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.
4 This is the reason Joshua circumcised: all
the people who came out of Egypt, who were males, even all the men of war, died
in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt.
5 For all the people who came out were
circumcised; but all the people who were born in the wilderness by the way as
they came out of Egypt had not been circumcised.
6 For the children of Israel walked forty years
in the wilderness, until all the nation, even the men of war who came out of
Egypt, were consumed, because they didn’t listen to the voice of YHWH! YHWH
swore to them that he wouldn’t let them see the land which YHWH swore to their
fathers that he would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
7 Their children, whom he raised up in their
place, were circumcised by Joshua; for they were uncircumcised, because they
had not circumcised them on the way.
8 It happened, when they were done circumcising
all the nation, that they stayed in their places in the camp until they were
healed.
9 YHWH said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled
away the reproach of Egypt from off you.” Therefore the name of that place was
called Gilgal, to this day.
10 The children of Israel encamped in Gilgal.
They kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at evening in the
plains of Jericho.
11 They ate unleavened cakes and parched grain
of the produce of the land on the next day after the Passover, in the same day.
12 The manna ceased on the next day, after they
had eaten of the produce of the land. The children of Israel didn’t have manna
any more; but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
13 . The Commander of the Army of YHWH. .
It happened, when Joshua was by
Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man stood in
front of him with his sword drawn in his hand. Joshua went to him, and said to
him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?”
14 He said, “No; but I have come now as
commander of YHWH’s army.” Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and
worshipped, and said to him, “What does my master say to his servant?”
15 The prince of YHWH’s army said to Joshua,
“Take your shoes off of your feet; for the place on which you stand is holy.”
Joshua did so.
1 . The Destruction of
Jericho. .
Now Jericho was tightly shut up
because of the children of Israel. No one went out, and no one came in.
27 So YHWH was with Joshua; and his
fame was in all the land.
Luke
22:7-20.
7 . YESHUA and His Disciples
Prepare the Passover. .
The day of unleavened bread came,
on which the Passover must be sacrificed.
8 He sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and
prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”
9 They said to him, “Where do you want us to
prepare?”
10 He said to them, “Behold, when you have
entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow
him into the house which he enters.
11 Tell the master of the house, ‘The Rabbi
says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my
disciples?”’
12 He will show you a large, furnished upper
room. Make preparations there.”
13 They went, found things as he had told them,
and they prepared the Passover.
14 . YESHUA Institutes YHWH's Supper. .
When the hour had come, he sat
down with the twelve emissaries.
15 He said to them, “I have earnestly desired
to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
16 for I tell you, I will no longer by any
means eat of it until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of ELOHIM!”
17 He received a cup, and when he had given
thanks, he said, “Take this, and share it among yourselves,
18 for I tell you, I will not drink at all
again from the fruit of the vine, until the Kingdom of ELOHIM comes.”
19 He took bread, and when he had given thanks,
he broke it, and gave to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you.
Do this in memory of me.”
20 Likewise, he took the cup after supper,
saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
