Pesach 4 - Passover 4 (Matzot 4 - Forth Day of Unleavened Bread).

Exodus 22:25-end,23:1-19, Numbers 28:19-25, Leviticus 23:9-22, 1 Corinthians 15:12-58.

Exodus 22:25-end,23:1-19.  (JPS=Exo 22:24-23:19):

25 “If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor; neither shall you charge him interest.
26 If you take your neighbor’s garment as collateral, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down,
27 for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious.
28 “You shall not blaspheme ELOHIM, nor curse a ruler of your people.
29 “You shall not delay to offer from your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. “You shall give the firstborn of your sons to me.
30 You shall do likewise with your cattle and with your sheep. Seven days it shall be with its mother, then on the eighth day you shall give it to me.
31 “You shall be holy men to me, therefore you shall not eat any flesh that is torn by animals in the field. You shall cast it to the dogs.

1 . Justice for All. .

“You shall not spread a false report. Don’t join your hand with the wicked to be a malicious witness.
2 “You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; neither shall you testify in court to side with a multitude to pervert justice;
3 neither shall you favor a poor man in his cause.
4 “If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again.
5 If you see the donkey of him who hates you fallen down under his burden, don’t leave him, you shall surely help him with it.
6 “You shall not deny justice to your poor people in their legalsuits.
7 “Keep far from a false charge, and don’t kill the innocent and righteous: for I will not justify the wicked.
8 “You shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds those who have sight and perverts the words of the righteous.
9 “You shall not oppress an alien, for you know the heart of an alien, since you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

10 . The Teaching and Instruction of Sabbaths. .

“For six years you shall sow your land, and shall gather in its increase,
11 but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the animal of the field shall eat. In the same way, you shall deal with your vineyard and with your olive grove.
12 “Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the alien may be refreshed.
13 “Be careful to do all things that I have said to you; and don’t invoke the name of other gods, neither let them be heard out of your mouth.

14 . Three Annual Feasts. .

“You shall observe a feast to me three times a year.
15 You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Abib (for in it you came out from Egypt), and no one shall appear before me empty.
16 And the feast of harvest, the first fruits of your labors, which you sow in the field: and the feast of harvest, at the end of the year, when you gather in your labors out of the field.
17 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before ADONAI YHWH!
18 “You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread, neither shall the fat of my feast remain all night until the morning.
19 The first of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring into the house of YHWH your ELOHIM! “You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.

Numbers 28:19-25.

19 but you shall offer an offering made by fire, a burnt offering to YHWH: two young bulls, and one ram, and seven male lambs a year old; they shall be to you without blemish;
20 and their meal offering, fine flour mixed with oil: you shall offer three tenth parts for a bull, and two tenth parts for the ram.
21 You shall offer a tenth part for every lamb of the seven lambs;
22 and one male goat for a sin offering, to make atonement for you.
23 You shall offer these besides the burnt offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering.
24 In this way you shall offer daily, for seven days, the food of the offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to YHWH: it shall be offered besides the continual burnt offering, and the drink offering of it.
25 On the seventh day you shall have a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work.

Leviticus 23:9-22.

9 . The Feast of Firstfruits. .

YHWH spoke to Moses, saying,
10 “Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘When you have come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap its the harvest, then you shall bring the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest:
11 and he shall wave the sheaf before YHWH, to be accepted for you. On the next day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.
12 On the day when you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a male lamb without blemish a year old for a burnt offering to YHWH!
13 The meal offering with it shall be two tenth parts of an efah of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire to YHWH for a pleasant aroma; and the drink offering with it shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin.
14 You shall eat neither bread, nor roasted grain, nor fresh grain, until this same day, until you have brought the offering of your ELOHIM! This is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

15 . The Feast of Weeks. .

“‘You shall count from the next day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be completed:
16 even to the next day after the seventh Sabbath you shall number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meal offering to YHWH!
17 You shall bring out of your habitations two loaves of bread for a wave offering made of two tenth parts of an efah of fine flour. They shall be baked with yeast, for first fruits to YHWH!
18 You shall present with the bread seven lambs without blemish a year old, one young bull, and two rams. They shall be a burnt offering to YHWH, with their meal offering, and their drink offerings, even an offering made by fire, of a sweet aroma to YHWH!
19 You shall offer one male goat for a sin offering, and two male lambs a year old for a sacrifice of peace offerings.
20 The priest shall wave them with the bread of the first fruits for a wave offering before YHWH, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to YHWH for the priest.
21 You shall make proclamation on the same day: there shall be a holy convocation to you; you shall do no regular work. This is a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
22 “‘When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap into the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest: you shall leave them for the poor, and for the foreigner. I am YHWH your ELOHIM!’”

1 Corinthians 15:12-58.

12 . The Risen Messiah, Our Hope. .

Now if Messiah is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither has Messiah been raised.
14 If Messiah has not been raised, then our proclaiming is in vain, and your faith also is in vain.
15 Yes, we are found false witnesses of ELOHIM, because we testified about ELOHIM that he raised up Messiah, whom he didn’t raise up, if it is so that the dead are not raised.
16 For if the dead aren’t raised, neither has Messiah been raised.
17 If Messiah has not been raised, your faith is vain; you are still in your sins.
18 Then they also who are fallen asleep in Messiah have perished.
19 If we have only hoped in Messiah in this life, we are of all men most pitiable.

20 . The Last Enemy Destroyed. .

But now Messiah has been raised from the dead. He became the first fruits of those who are asleep.
21 For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man.
22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Messiah all will be made alive.
23 But each in his own order: Messiah the first fruits, then those who are Messiah’s, at his coming.
24 Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to ELOHIM, even the Father; when he will have abolished all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that will be abolished is death.
27 For, “He put all things in subjection under his feet.” But when he says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that he is excepted who subjected all things to him.
28 When all things have been subjected to him, then the Son will also himself be subjected to him who subjected all things to him, that ELOHIM may be all in all.

29 . Effects of Denying the Resurrection. .

Or else what will they do who are immersed for the dead? If the dead aren’t raised at all, why then are they immersed for the dead?
30 Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?
31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Messiah YESHUA our ADONAI, I die daily.
32 If I fought with animals at Ephesus for human purposes, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, then “let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”
33 Don’t be deceived! “Evil companionships corrupt good morals.”
34 Wake up righteously, and don’t sin, for some have no knowledge of ELOHIM! I say this to your shame.

35 . A Glorious Body. .

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised?” and, “With what kind of body do they come?”
36 You foolish one, that which you yourself sow is not made alive unless it dies.
37 That which you sow, you don’t sow the body that will be, but a bare grain, maybe of wheat, or of some other kind.
38 But ELOHIM gives it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial differs from that of the terrestrial.
41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption.
43 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is also a spiritual body.
45 So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
46 However that which is spiritual isn’t first, but that which is natural, then that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, made of dust. The second man is ADONAI from heaven.
48 As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 As we have borne the image of those made of dust, let’s also bear the image of the heavenly.

50 . Our Final Victory. .

Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood can’t inherit the Kingdom of ELOHIM; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last shofar. For the shofar will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “Death, where is your sting?  Sheol, where is your victory?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Torah (teaching and instruction).
57 But thanks be to ELOHIM, who gives us the victory through our ADONAI YESHUA the Messiah.
58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in ADONAI’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in ADONAI.
