Sunday. Day 1 before Shabbat - Parasha Devarim - The Words.

Deuteronomy 1.

Deuteronomy 1.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Previous Command to Enter Canaan. .                  Deuteronomy! \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness, in the Arabah over against Suf, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.
2 It is eleven days’ journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea.
3 It happened in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spoke to the children of Israel, according to all that YHWH had given him in commandment to them;
4 after he had struck Sihon the king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, who lived in Ashtaroth, at Edrei.
5 Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, began Moses to declare this Torah (teaching and instruction), saying,
6 “YHWH our ELOHIM spoke to us in Horeb, saying, You have lived long enough in this mountain:
7 turn, and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites, and to all the places near there, in the Arabah, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and in the South, and by the seashore, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.
8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which YHWH swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their seed after them.”

9
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Tribal Leaders Appointed. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

I spoke to you at that time, saying, “I am not able to bear you myself alone:
10 YHWH your ELOHIM has multiplied you, and behold, you are this day as the stars of the sky for multitude.
11 YHWH, the ELOHIM of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as you are, and bless you, as he has promised you!
12 How can I myself alone bear your encumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?
13 Take wise men of understanding and well known according to your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.”
14 You answered me, and said, “The thing which you have spoken is good to do.”
15 So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens, and officers, according to your tribes.
16 I commanded your judges at that time, saying, “Hear cases between your brothers, and judge righteously between a man and his brother, and the foreigner who is living with him.
17 You shall not show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike; you shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is ELOHIM’s. The case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.”
18 I commanded you at that time all the things which you should do.

19
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Israel's Refusal to Enter the Land. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

We traveled from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which you saw, by the way to the hill country of the Amorites, as YHWH our ELOHIM commanded us; and we came to Kadesh Barnea.
20 I said to you, “You have come to the hill country of the Amorites, which YHWH our ELOHIM gives to us.
21 Behold, YHWH your ELOHIM has set the land before you: go up, take possession, as YHWH, the ELOHIM of your fathers, has spoken to you; don’t be afraid, neither be dismayed.”
22 You came near to me everyone of you, and said, “Let us send men before us, that they may search the land for us, and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up, and the cities to which we shall come.”
23 The thing pleased me well; and I took twelve men of you, one man for every tribe:
24 and they turned and went up into the hill country, and came to the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.
25 They took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down to us, and brought us word again, and said, “It is a good land which YHWH our ELOHIM gives to us.”
26 Yet you wouldn’t go up, but rebelled against the commandment of YHWH your ELOHIM:
27 and you murmured in your tents, and said, “Because YHWH hated us, he has brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.
28 Where are we going up? our brothers have made our heart to melt, saying, ‘The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to the sky; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.’”
29 Then I said to you, “Don’t dread, neither be afraid of them.
30 YHWH your ELOHIM who goes before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes,
31 and in the wilderness, where you have seen how that YHWH your ELOHIM bore you, as a man does bear his son, in all the way that you went, until you came to this place.”
32 Yet in this thing you didn’t believe YHWH your ELOHIM,
33 who went before you in the way, to seek you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way you should go, and in the cloud by day.

34
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Penalty for Israel's Rebellion. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

YHWH heard the voice of your words, and was angry, and swore, saying,
35 “Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land, which I swore to give to your fathers,
36 except Caleb the son of Jephunneh: he shall see it; and to him will I give the land that he has trodden on, and to his children, because he has wholly followed YHWH!”
37 Also YHWH was angry with me for your sakes, saying, “You also shall not go in there:
38 Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, he shall go in there: encourage you him; for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
39 Moreover your little ones, whom you said should be a prey, and your children, who this day have no knowledge of good or evil, they shall go in there, and to them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
40 But as for you, turn, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way to the Sea of Suf.”
41 Then you answered and said to me, “We have sinned against YHWH, we will go up and fight, according to all that YHWH our ELOHIM commanded us.” Every man of you put on his weapons of war, and presumed to go up into the hill country.
42 YHWH said to me, “Tell them, ‘Don’t go up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest you be struck before your enemies.’”
43 So I spoke to you, and you didn’t listen; but you rebelled against the commandment of YHWH, and were presumptuous, and went up into the hill country.
44 The Amorites, who lived in that hill country, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and beat you down in Seir, even to Hormah.
45 You returned and wept before YHWH; but YHWH didn’t listen to your voice, nor gave ear to you.
46 So you stayed in Kadesh many days, according to the days that you remained.

Monday. Day 2 before Shabbat - Parasha Devarim - The Words.

Deuteronomy 2.

Deuteronomy 2.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Desert Years. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way to the Sea of Suf, as YHWH spoke to me; and we encircled Mount Seir many days.
2 YHWH spoke to me, saying,
3 “You have encircled this mountain long enough. Turn northward.
4 Command the people, saying, ‘You are to pass through the border of your brothers the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you: take good heed to yourselves therefore;
5 don’t contend with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on; because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for a possession.
6 You shall purchase food of them for money, that you may eat; and you shall also buy water of them for money, that you may drink.’”
7 For YHWH your ELOHIM has blessed you in all the work of your hand; he has known your walking through this great wilderness: these forty years YHWH your ELOHIM has been with you; you have lacked nothing.
8 So we passed by from our brothers the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from the way of the Arabah from Elath and from Ezion Geber. We turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
9 YHWH said to me, “Don’t bother Moab, neither contend with them in battle; for I will not give you of his land for a possession; because I have given Ar to the children of Lot for a possession.”
10 (The Emim lived therein before, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakim:
11 these also are accounted Rephaim, as the Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim.
12 The Horites also lived in Seir before, but the children of Esau succeeded them; and they destroyed them from before them, and lived in their place; as Israel did to the land of his possession, which YHWH gave to them.)
13 “Now rise up, and cross over the brook Zered.” We went over the brook Zered.
14 The days in which we came from Kadesh Barnea, until we had come over the brook Zered, were thirty-eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as YHWH swore to them.
15 Moreover the hand of YHWH was against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed.
16 So it happened, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,
17 that YHWH spoke to me, saying,
18 “You are this day to pass over Ar, the border of Moab:
19 and when you come near over against the children of Ammon, don’t bother them, nor contend with them; for I will not give you of the land of the children of Ammon for a possession; because I have given it to the children of Lot for a possession.”
20 (That also is accounted a land of Rephaim: Rephaim lived therein before; but the Ammonites call them Zamzummim,
21 a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakim; but YHWH destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and lived in their place;
22 as he did for the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeeded them, and lived in their place even to this day:
23 and the Avvim, who lived in villages as far as Gaza, the Caphtorim, who came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and lived in their place.)
24 “Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the valley of the Arnon: behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land; begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.
25 This day will I begin to put the dread of you and the fear of you on the peoples who are under the whole sky, who shall hear the report of you, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of you.”

26
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. King Sihon Defeated. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth to Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,
27 “Let me pass through your land: I will go along by the highway, I will turn neither to the right hand nor to the left.
28 You shall sell me food for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only let me pass through on my feet,
29 as the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, and the Moabites who dwell in Ar, did to me; until I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which YHWH our ELOHIM gives us.”
30 But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him; for YHWH your ELOHIM hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into your hand, as at this day.
31 YHWH said to me, “Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his land before you: begin to possess, that you may inherit his land.”
32 Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Jahaz.
33 YHWH our ELOHIM delivered him up before us; and we struck him, and his sons, and all his people.
34 We took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones; we left none remaining:
35 only the livestock we took for a prey to ourselves, with the spoil of the cities which we had taken.
36 From Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the valley, even to Gilead, there was not a city too high for us; YHWH our ELOHIM delivered up all before us:
37 only to the land of the children of Ammon you didn’t come near; all the side of the river Jabbok, and the cities of the hill country, and wherever YHWH our ELOHIM forbade us.

Tuesday. Day 3 before Shabbat - Parasha Devarim - The Words.

James 3.

James 3.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Untamable Tongue. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment.
2 For in many things we all stumble. If anyone doesn’t stumble in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.
3 Indeed, we put bits into the horses’ mouths so that they may obey us, and we guide their whole body.
4 Behold, the ships also, though they are so big and are driven by fierce winds, are yet guided by a very small rudder, wherever the pilot desires.
5 So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest!
6 And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehinnom.
7 For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and thing in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind.
8 But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9 With it we bless our ELOHIM and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the image of ELOHIM!
10 Out of the same mouth comes forth blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
11 Does a spring send out from the same opening fresh and bitter water?
12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, yield olives, or a vine figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water.

13
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Heavenly Versus Demonic Wisdom. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and don’t lie against the truth.
15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.
16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Wednesday. Day 4 before Shabbat - Parasha Devarim - The Words.

Deuteronomy 3:1-22.

Deuteronomy 3:1-22.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. King Og Defeated. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
2 YHWH said to me, “Don’t fear him; for I have delivered him, and all his people, and his land, into your hand; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived at Heshbon.”
3 So YHWH our ELOHIM delivered into our hand Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we struck him until none was left to him remaining.
4 We took all his cities at that time; there was not a city which we didn’t take from them; sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
5 All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars; besides the unwalled towns a great many.
6 We utterly destroyed them, as we did to Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones.
7 But all the livestock, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.
8 We took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon.
9 (The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir.)
10 We took all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, to Salecah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.
11 (For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of the Rephaim; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; isn’t it in Rabbah of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, after the cubit of a man.)

12
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Land East of the Jordan Divided. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

This land we took in possession at that time: from Aroer, which is by the valley of the Arnon, and half the hill country of Gilead, and its cities, gave I to the Reubenites and to the Gadites:
13 and the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, gave I to the half-tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, even all Bashan. (The same is called the land of Rephaim.
14 Jair the son of Manasseh took all the region of Argob, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called them, even Bashan, after his own name, Havvoth Jair, to this day.)
15 I gave Gilead to Machir.
16 To the Reubenites and to the Gadites I gave from Gilead even to the valley of the Arnon, the middle of the valley, and its border, even to the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;
17 the Arabah also, and the Jordan and its border, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, under the slopes of Pisgah eastward.
18 I commanded you at that time, saying, “YHWH your ELOHIM has given you this land to possess it: you shall pass over armed before your brothers the children of Israel, all the men of valor.
19 But your wives, and your little ones, and your livestock, (I know that you have much livestock), shall live in your cities which I have given you,
20 until YHWH gives rest to your brothers, as to you, and they also possess the land which YHWH your ELOHIM gives them beyond the Jordan: then you shall return every man to his possession, which I have given you.”
21 I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, “Your eyes have seen all that YHWH your ELOHIM has done to these two kings: so shall YHWH do to all the kingdoms where you go over.
22 You shall not fear them; for YHWH your ELOHIM, he it is who fights for you.”

Thursday. Day 5 before Shabbat - Parasha Devarim - The Words.

James 4.

James 4.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Pride Promotes Strife. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members?
2 You lust, and don’t have. You kill, covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.
3 You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
4 You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is enmity with ELOHIM? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of ELOHIM!
5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously”?
6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “ELOHIM resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

7
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Humility Cures Worldliness. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Be subject therefore to ELOHIM! But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to ELOHIM, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of ADONAI, and he will exalt you.

11
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Do Not Judge a Brother. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Don’t speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the Torah (teaching and instruction) and judges the Torah (teaching and instruction). But if you judge the Torah (teaching and instruction), you are not a doer of the Torah (teaching and instruction), but a judge.
12 Only one is the Torah-giver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?

13
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Do Not Boast About Tomorrow. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.”
14 Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.
15 For you ought to say, “If ADONAI wills, we will both live, and do this or that.”
16 But now you glory in your boasting. All such boasting is evil.
17 To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin.

Friday. Day 6 before Shabbat - Parasha Devarim - The Words.

Isaiah 1:1-27.

Isaiah 1:1-27.

1                      \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\Isaiah! \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Wickedness of Judah. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

2 Hear, heavens,  and listen, earth; for YHWH has spoken:  “I have nourished and brought up children,  and they have rebelled against me.
3 The ox knows his owner,  and the donkey his master’s crib;  but Israel doesn’t know,  my people don’t consider.”
4 Ah sinful nation,  a people loaded with iniquity,  a seed of evildoers,  children who deal corruptly!  They have forsaken YHWH!  They have despised the Holy One of Israel.  They are estranged and backward.
5 Why should you be beaten more,  that you revolt more and more?  The whole head is sick,  and the whole heart faint.
6 From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it:  wounds, welts, and open sores.  They haven’t been closed, neither bandaged, neither soothed with oil.
7 Your country is desolate.  Your cities are burned with fire.  Strangers devour your land in your presence,  and it is desolate,  as overthrown by strangers.
8 The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard,  like a hut in a field of melons,  like a besieged city.
9 Unless YHWH of Hosts had left to us a very small remnant,  we would have been as Sodom;  we would have been like Gomorrah.
10 Hear the word of YHWH, you rulers of Sodom!  Listen to the Torah (teaching and instruction) of our ELOHIM, you people of Gomorrah!
11 “What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?,” says YHWH!  “I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams,  and the fat of fed animals.  I don’t delight in the blood of bulls,  or of lambs,  or of male goats.
12 When you come to appear before me,  who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts?
13 Bring no more vain offerings.  Incense is an abomination to me;  new moons, Sabbaths, and convocations:  I can’t bear with evil assemblies.
14 My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts.  They are a burden to me.  I am weary of bearing them.
15 When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you.  Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear.  Your hands are full of blood.
16 Wash yourselves, make yourself clean.  Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes.  Cease to do evil.
17 Learn to do well.  Seek justice.  Relieve the oppressed.  Judge the fatherless.  Plead for the widow.”
18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” says YHWH:  “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.  Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,  you shall eat the good of the land;
20 but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword;  for the mouth of YHWH has spoken it.”

21
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Degenerate City. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

How the faithful city has become a prostitute!  She was full of justice; righteousness lodged in her,  but now murderers.
22 Your silver has become dross,  your wine mixed with water.
23 Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves.  Everyone loves bribes, and follows after rewards.  They don’t judge the fatherless,  neither does the cause of the widow come to them.
24 Therefore ADONAI, YHWH of Hosts,  the Mighty One of Israel, says:  “Ah, I will get relief from my adversaries,  and avenge myself of my enemies;
25 and I will turn my hand on you,  thoroughly purge away your dross,  and will take away all your tin.
26 I will restore your judges as at the first,  and your counselors as at the beginning.  Afterward you shall be called ‘The city of righteousness,  a faithful town.’
27 Zion shall be redeemed with justice,  and her converts with righteousness.

Saturday.   Shabbat - Parasha Devarim - The Words (Shabbat Chazon of Isaiah's Vision).

James 5.

James 5.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Rich Oppressors Will Be Judged. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming on you.
2 Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth-eaten.
3 Your gold and your silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be for a testimony against you, and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up your treasure in the last days.
4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of ADONAI of Hosts.
5 You have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure. You have nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter.
6 You have condemned, you have murdered the righteous one. He doesn’t resist you.

7
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Be Patient and Persevering. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of ADONAI. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.
8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of ADONAI is at hand.
9 Don’t grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won’t be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door.
10 Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of ADONAI.
11 Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen ADONAI in the outcome, and how ADONAI is full of compassion and mercy.
12 But above all things, my brothers, don’t swear, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your “yes” be “yes,” and your “no,” “no;” so that you don’t fall into hypocrisy.

13
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Meeting Specific Needs. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises.
14 Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of ADONAI,
15 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and ADONAI will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
16 Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.
17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it didn’t rain on the earth for three years and six months.
18 He prayed again, and the sky gave rain, and the earth brought forth its fruit.

Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back,
20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.
