Ezekiel
25.
1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Proclamation Against Ammon. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.
The word of YAHWEH came to me,
saying,
2 Son of man, set your face toward the children
of Ammon, and prophesy against them:
3 and tell the children of Ammon, Hear the word
of ADONAI YAHWEH: Thus says ADONAI YAHWEH, Because you said, Aha, against my
sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against Eretz-Israel, when it was made
desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:
4 therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the
children of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in
you, and make their dwellings in you; they shall eat your fruit, and they shall
drink your milk.
5 I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and
the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks: and you shall know that I am
YAHWEH!
6 For thus says ADONAI YAHWEH: Because you have
clapped your hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the
despite of your soul against Eretz-Israel;
7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my
hand on you, and will deliver you for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut
you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries:
I will destroy you; and you shall know that I am YAHWEH!
8 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Proclamation Against Moab. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.
Thus says ADONAI YAHWEH: Because
Moab and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations;
9 therefore, behold, I will open the side of
Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of
the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim,
10 to the children of the east, to go against
the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children
of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.
11 and I will execute judgments on Moab; and
they shall know that I am YAHWEH!
12 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Proclamation Against Edom. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.
Thus says ADONAI YAHWEH: Because
Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly
offended, and revenged himself on them;
13 therefore thus says ADONAI YAHWEH, I will
stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I
will make it desolate from Teman; even to Dedan shall they fall by the sword.
14 I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand
of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and
according to my wrath; and they shall know my vengeance, says ADONAI YAHWEH!
15 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Proclamation Against Philistia.
.\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.
Thus says ADONAI YAHWEH: Because
the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with despite of
soul to destroy with perpetual enmity;
16 therefore thus says ADONAI YAHWEH, Behold, I
will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the
Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
17 I will execute great vengeance on them with
wrathful rebukes; and they shall know that I am YAHWEH, when I shall lay my
vengeance on them.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Proclamation Against Tyre. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.
It happened in the eleventh year,
in the first day of the month, that the word of YAHWEH came to me, saying,
2 Son of man, because Tyre has said against
Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken: the gate of the peoples; she is turned to me; I
shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste:
3 therefore thus says ADONAI YAHWEH, Behold, I
am against you, Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as
the sea causes its waves to come up.
4 They shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and
break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a
bare rock.
5 She shall be a place for the spreading of
nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, says ADONAI YAHWEH; and she
shall become a spoil to the nations.
6 Her daughters who are in the field shall be
slain with the sword: and they shall know that I am YAHWEH!
7 For thus says ADONAI YAHWEH: Behold, I will
bring on Tyre Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north,
with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and a company, and many
people.
8 He shall kill your daughters in the field
with the sword; and he shall make forts against you, and cast up a mound
against you, and raise up the buckler against you.
9 He shall set his battering engines against
your walls, and with his axes he shall break down your towers.
10 By reason of the abundance of his horses
their dust shall cover you: your walls shall shake at the noise of the
horsemen, and of the wagons, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into your
gates, as men enter into a city in which is made a breach.
11 With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread
down all your streets; he shall kill your people with the sword; and the
pillars of your strength shall go down to the ground.
12 They shall make a spoil of your riches, and
make a prey of your merchandise; and they shall break down your walls, and
destroy your pleasant houses; and they shall lay your stones and your timber
and your dust in the midst of the waters.
13 I will cause the noise of your songs to
cease; and the sound of your harps shall be no more heard.
14 I will make you a bare rock; you shall be a
place for the spreading of nets; you shall be built no more: for I YAHWEH have
spoken it, says ADONAI YAHWEH!
15 Thus says ADONAI YAHWEH to Tyre: shall not
the islands shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when the
slaughter is made in the midst of you?
16 Then all the princes of the sea shall come
down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their
embroidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall
sit on the ground, and shall tremble every moment, and be astonished at you.
17 They shall take up a lamentation over you,
and tell you, How you are destroyed, who were inhabited by seafaring men, the
renowned city, who was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused
their terror to be on all who lived there!
18 Now shall the islands tremble in the day of
your fall; yes, the islands that are in the sea shall be dismayed at your
departure.
19 For thus says ADONAI YAHWEH: When I shall
make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall
bring up the deep on you, and the great waters shall cover you;
20 then will I bring you down with those who
descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make you to dwell in
the lower parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with
those who go down to the pit, that you be not inhabited; and I will set glory
in the land of the living:
21 I will make you a terror, and you shall no
more have any being; though you are sought for, yet you will never be found
again, says ADONAI YAHWEH!
Isaiah
53.
1
Who has believed our message? To
whom has the arm of YAHWEH been revealed?
2 For he grew up before him as a tender
plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no good looks or majesty. When we see him, there is no beauty that we
should desire him.
3 He was despised, and rejected by men; a
man of suffering, and acquainted with
disease. He was despised as one from
whom men hide their face; and we didn’t
respect him.
4 Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by ELOHIM, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our
transgressions. He was crushed for our
iniquities. The punishment that brought
our peace was on him; and by his wounds
we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and YAHWEH has laid on him the iniquity of
us all.
7 He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn’t open his mouth. As a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is
mute, so he didn’t open his mouth.
8 He was taken away by oppression and
judgment; and as for his
generation, who considered that he was
cut off out of the land of the living
and stricken for the disobedience of my people?
9 They made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased YAHWEH to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for
sin, he shall see his seed. He shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of YAHWEH shall prosper in
his hand.
11 After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by
the knowledge of himself; and he will
bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with
the great, and he shall divide the
spoil with the strong; because he
poured out his soul to death, and was
numbered with the transgressors; yet he
bore the sin of many, and made
intercession for the transgressors.
Psalms
14.
1 . “To the Chief Musician. A
Psalm of David.. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.
For the Chief Musician. By David.
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no ELOHIM!” They are corrupt. They have done abominable works.
There is none who does good.
2 YAHWEH looked down from heaven on the
children of men, to see if there were
any who understood, who sought after
ELOHIM!
3 They have all gone aside. They have together become corrupt. There is none who does good, no, not one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no
knowledge, who eat up my people as they
eat bread, and don’t call on YAHWEH?
5 There they were in great fear, for ELOHIM is in the generation of the
righteous.
6 You frustrate the plan of the poor, because YAHWEH is his refuge.
7 Oh that the salvation [yeshuat] of Israel
would come out of Zion! When YAHWEH
restores the fortunes of his people,
then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.
Proverbs
1.
1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Beginning of Knowledge. .
Proverbs! \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.
The proverbs of Solomon, the son
of David, king of Israel:
2 to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;
3 to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;
4 to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man:
5 that the wise man may hear, and increase in
learning; that the man of understanding
may attain to sound counsel:
6 to understand a proverb, and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.
7 The fear of YAHWEH is the beginning of
knowledge; but the foolish despise
wisdom and instruction.
8 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Shun Evil Counsel. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.
My son, listen to your father’s
instruction, and don’t forsake your
mother’s teaching:
9 for they will be a garland to grace your
head, and chains around your neck.
10 My son, if sinners entice you, don’t
consent.
11 If they say, “Come with us, Let’s lay in wait for blood; let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without
cause;
12 let’s swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the
pit.
13 We’ll find all valuable wealth. We’ll fill our houses with spoil.
14 You shall cast your lot among us. We’ll all have one purse.”
15 My son, don’t walk in the way with
them. Keep your foot from their path,
16 for their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood.
17 For in vain is the net spread in the sight
of any bird:
18 but these lay wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives_.
19 So are the ways of everyone who is greedy
for gain. It takes away the life of its
owners.
20 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Call of Wisdom. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.
Wisdom calls aloud in the
street. She utters her voice in the
public squares.
21 She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she
utters her words:
22 “How long, you simple ones, will you love
simplicity? How long will mockers
delight themselves in mockery, and
fools hate knowledge?
23 Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on
you. I will make known my words to you.
24 Because I have called, and you have
refused; I have stretched out my hand,
and no one has paid attention;
25 but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;
26 I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you;
27 when calamity overtakes you like a
storm, when your disaster comes on like
a whirlwind; when distress and anguish
come on you.
28 Then will they call on me, but I will not
answer. They will seek me diligently,
but they will not find me;
29 because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of YAHWEH!
30 They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.
31 Therefore they will eat of the fruit of
their own way, and be filled with their
own schemes.
32 For the backsliding of the simple will kill
them. The careless ease of fools will
destroy them.
33 But whoever listens to me will dwell
securely, and will be at ease, without
fear of harm.”
