Sunday - 12-Dec-2010; (5-Tevet-5771). Day 1 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayechi - And He Lived.

Genesis 47:28-to-end.

28 Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years. So the days of Jacob, the years of his life, were one hundred forty-seven years.
29 The time drew near that Israel must die, and he called his son Joseph, and said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please don’t bury me in Egypt,
30 but when I sleep with my fathers, you shall carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their burying place.” He said, “I will do as you have said.”
31 He said, “Swear to me,” and he swore to him. Israel bowed himself on the bed’s head.

Monday - 13-Dec-2010; (6-Tevet-5771). Day 2 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayechi - And He Lived.

Genesis 48.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Jacob Blesses Joseph's Sons. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

It happened after these things, that someone said to Joseph, “Behold, your father is sick.” He took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
2 Someone told Jacob, and said, “Behold, your son Joseph comes to you,” and Israel strengthened himself, and sat on the bed.
3 Jacob said to Joseph, “ELOHIM Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
4 and said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession.’
5 Now your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you into Egypt, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh, even as Reuben and Simeon, will be mine.
6 Your issue, whom you become the father of after them, will be yours. They will be called after the name of their brothers in their inheritance.
7 As for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when there was still some distance to come to Ephrath, and I buried her there in the way to Ephrath (the same is Bethlehem).”
8 Israel saw Joseph’s sons, and said, “Who are these?”
9 Joseph said to his father, “They are my sons, whom ELOHIM has given me here.” He said, “Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.”
10 Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he couldn’t see. He brought them near to him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.
11 Israel said to Joseph, “I didn’t think I would see your face, and behold, ELOHIM has let me see your seed also.”
12 Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.
13 Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near to him.
14 Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it on Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.
15 He blessed Joseph, and said, “The ELOHIM before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the ELOHIM who has fed me all my life long to this day,
16 the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads, and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac. Let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”
17 When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him. He held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head.
18 Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father; for this is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.”
19 His father refused, and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also will become a people, and he also will be great. However, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his seed will become a multitude of nations.”
20 He blessed them that day, saying, “In you will Israel bless, saying, ‘ELOHIM make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh’” He set Ephraim before Manasseh.
21 Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am dying, but ELOHIM will be with you, and bring you again to the land of your fathers.
22 Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brothers, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow
_.”

Tuesday - 14-Dec-2010; (7-Tevet-5771). Day 3 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayechi - And He Lived.

Genesis 49:1-28.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Jacob's Last Words to His Sons. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Jacob called to his sons, and said: “Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which will happen to you in the days to come.
2 Assemble yourselves, and hear, you sons of Jacob.  Listen to Israel, your father.
3 “Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength;  excelling in dignity, and excelling in power.
4 Boiling over as water, you shall not excel;  because you went up to your father’s bed,  then defiled it. He went up to my couch.
5 “Simeon and Levi are brothers.  Their swords are weapons of violence.
6 My soul, don’t come into their council.  My glory, don’t be united to their assembly;  for in their anger they killed men.  In their self-will they hamstrung cattle.
7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce;  and their wrath, for it was cruel.  I will divide them in Jacob,  and scatter them in Israel.
8 “Judah, your brothers will praise you.  Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies.  Your father’s sons will bow down before you.
9 Judah is a lion’s cub.  From the prey, my son, you have gone up.  He stooped down, he crouched as a lion,  as a lioness.  Who will rouse him up?
10 The scepter will not depart from Judah,  nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet,  until he comes to whom it belongs.  To him will the obedience of the peoples be.
11 Binding his foal to the vine,  his donkey’s colt to the choice vine;  he has washed his garments in wine,  his robes in the blood of grapes.
12 His eyes will be red with wine,  his teeth white with milk.
13 “Zebulun will dwell at the haven of the sea.  He will be for a haven of ships.  His border will be on Sidon.
14 “Issachar is a strong donkey,  lying down between the saddlebags.
15 He saw a resting place, that it was good,  the land, that it was pleasant.  He bows his shoulder to the burden,  and becomes a servant doing forced labor.
16 “Dan will judge his people,  as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 Dan will be a serpent in the way,  an adder in the path,  That bites the horse’s heels,  so that his rider falls backward.
18 I have waited for your salvation, YAHWEH!
19 “A troop will press on Gad,  but he will press on their heel.
20 “Asher’s food will be rich.  He will yield royal dainties.
21 “Naphtali is a doe set free,  who bears beautiful fawns.
22 “Joseph is a fruitful vine,  a fruitful vine by a spring.  His branches run over the wall.
23 The archers have severely grieved him,  shot at him, and persecute him:
24 But his bow
_ remained strong.  The arms of his hands were made strong,  by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob,  (from there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel),
25 even by the El of your father, who will help you;  by the Almighty, who will bless you,  with blessings of heaven above,  blessings of the deep that lies below,  blessings of the breasts, and of the womb.
26 The blessings of your father have prevailed above the blessings of your ancestors,  above the boundaries of the ancient hills.  They will be on the head of Joseph,  on the crown of the head of him who is separated from his brothers.
27 “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf.  In the morning he will devour the prey.  At evening he will divide the spoil.”
28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father spoke to them and blessed them. He blessed everyone according to his blessing.

Wednesday - 15-Dec-2010; (8-Tevet-5771). Day 4 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayechi - And He Lived.

Genesis 49:29-to-end.

29 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Jacob's Death and Burial. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

He instructed them, and said to them, “I am to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
30 in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field from Ephron the Hittite as a burial place.
31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah, his wife. There they buried Isaac and Rebekah, his wife, and there I buried Leah:
32 the field and the cave that is therein, which was purchased from the children of Heth.”
33 When Jacob made an end of charging his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the spirit, and was gathered to his people.

Acts 1.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Prologue. .                The Acts of the Emissaries! \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

The first book I wrote, Theophilus, concerned all that YESHUA began both to do and to teach,
2 until the day in which he was received up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the emissaries whom he had chosen.
3 To these he also showed himself alive after he suffered, by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking about ELOHIM’s Kingdom.

4
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Holy Spirit Promised. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Being assembled together with them, he commanded them, “Don’t depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.
5 For John indeed immersed in water, but you will be immersed in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, “ADONAI, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?”
7 He said to them, “It isn’t for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within his own authority.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

9
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. YESHUA Ascends to Heaven. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

When he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
11 who also said, “You men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This YESHUA, who was received up from you into the sky will come back in the same way as you saw him going into the sky.”

12
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Upper Room Prayer Meeting. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away.
13 When they had come in, they went up into the upper room, where they were staying; that is Peter, John, Jacob, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, Jacob the son of Halfai, Simon the Zealot, and Judah the son of Jacob.
14 All these with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer and supplication, along with the women, and Mary the mother of YESHUA, and with his brothers.

15
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Matthias Chosen. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

In these days, Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (and the number of names was about one hundred twenty), and said,
16 “Brothers, it was necessary that this Scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judah, who was guide to those who took YESHUA!
17 For he was numbered with us, and received his portion in this ministry.
18 Now this man obtained a field with the reward for his wickedness, and falling headlong, his body burst open, and all his intestines gushed out.
19 It became known to everyone who lived in Jerusalem that in their language that field was called ‘Hakel-Dema,’ that is, ‘The field of blood.’
20 For it is written in the scroll of Psalms,  ‘Let his habitation be made desolate.  Let no one dwell therein;’ and,  ‘Let another take his office.’
21 “Of the men therefore who have accompanied us all the time that ADONAI YESHUA went in and out among us,
22 beginning from the immersion of John, to the day that he was received up from us, of these one must become a witness with us of his resurrection.”
23 They put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthiah.
24 They prayed, and said, “You, ADONAI, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two you have chosen
25 to take part in this ministry and office of emissary from which Judah fell away, that he might go to his own place.”
26 They drew lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthiah, and he was numbered with the Eleven emissaries.

Thursday - 16-Dec-2010; (9-Tevet-5771). Day 5 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayechi - And He Lived.

Haftarah:

1 Kings 2:1-12.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. David's Instructions to Solomon. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Now the days of David drew near that he should die; and he commanded Solomon his son, saying,
2 “I am going the way of all the earth. You be strong therefore, and show yourself a man;
3 and keep the instruction of YAHWEH your ELOHIM, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the Torah of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself.
4 That YAHWEH may establish his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you,’ he said, ‘a man on the throne of Israel.’
5 “Moreover you know also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, even what he did to the two captains of the armies of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner, and to Amasa the son of Jether, whom he killed, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war on his sash that was about his waist, and in his shoes that were on his feet.
6 Do therefore according to your wisdom, and don’t let his gray head go down to Sheol in peace.
7 But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those who eat at your table; for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom your brother.
8 “Behold, there is with you Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite, of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by YAHWEH, saying, ‘I will not put you to death with the sword.’
9 Now therefore don’t hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man; and you will know what you ought to do to him, and you shall bring his gray head down to Sheol with blood.”

10
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Death of David. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
11 The days that David reigned over Israel were forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
12 Solomon sat on the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was firmly established.

Acts 2.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Coming of the Holy Spirit. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Now when the day of Shavuot had come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.
4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.

5
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Crowd's Response. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.
6 When this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.
7 They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans?
8 How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?
9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,
10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11 Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of ELOHIM!”
12 They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, “What does this mean?”
13 Others, mocking, said, “They are filled with new wine.”

14
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Peter's Sermon. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

But Peter, standing up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, “You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.
15 For these aren’t drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.
16 But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
17 ‘It will be in the last days, says ELOHIM,  that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.  Your sons and your daughters will prophesy.  Your young men will see visions.  Your old men will dream dreams.
18 Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days,  I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the sky above,  and signs on the earth beneath;  blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned into darkness,  and the moon into blood,  before the great and glorious day of ADONAI comes.
21 It will be, that whoever will call on the name of ADONAI will be saved.’
22 “Men of Israel, hear these words! YESHUA of Nazareth, a man approved by ELOHIM to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which ELOHIM did by him in the midst of you, even as you yourselves know,
23 him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of ELOHIM, you have taken by the hand of Torah-less men, crucified and killed;
24 whom ELOHIM raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
25 For David says concerning him,  ‘I saw ADONAI always before my face,  For he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.
26 Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced.  Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope;
27 because you will not leave my soul in Sheol,  neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.
28 You made known to me the ways of life.  You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
29 “Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.
30 Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that ELOHIM had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Messiah to sit on his throne,
31 he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Messiah, that neither was his soul left in Sheol, nor did his flesh see decay.
32 This YESHUA ELOHIM raised up, to which we all are witnesses.
33 Being therefore exalted by the right hand of ELOHIM, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear.
34 For David didn’t ascend into the heavens, but he says himself,  ‘ADONAI said to my ADONAI, “Sit by my right hand,
35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’
36 “Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that ELOHIM has made him both ADONAI and Messiah, this YESHUA whom you crucified.”
37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the emissaries, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and be immersed, every one of you, in the name of YESHUA the Messiah for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as ADONAI our ELOHIM will call to himself.”

40
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. A Vital Assembly Grows. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”
41 Then those who gladly received his word were immersed. There were added that day about three thousand souls.
42 They continued steadfastly in the emissaries’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.
43 Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the emissaries.
44 All who believed were together, and had all things in common.
45 They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.
46 Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 praising ELOHIM, and having favor with all the people. ADONAI added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.

Friday - 17-Dec-2010; (10-Tevet-5771). Day 6 before Shabbat - Parasha Vayechi - And He Lived [Tzom Tevet - Fast of the 10th of Tevet - Asara B' Tevet].

Genesis 50:1-26.

1 Joseph fell on his father’s face, wept on him, and kissed him.
2 Joseph commanded his servants, the physicians, to embalm his father; and the physicians embalmed Israel.
3 Forty days were fulfilled for him, for that is how many the days it takes to embalm. The Egyptians wept for him for seventy days.
4 When the days of weeping for him were past, Joseph spoke to the house of Pharaoh, saying, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, please speak in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
5 ‘My father made me swear, saying, “Behold, I am dying. Bury me in my grave which I have dug for myself in the land of Canaan.” Now therefore, please let me go up and bury my father, and I will come again.’”
6 Pharaoh said, “Go up, and bury your father, just like he made you swear.”
7 Joseph went up to bury his father; and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, all the elders of the land of Egypt,
8 all the house of Joseph, his brothers, and his father’s house. Only their little ones, their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.
9 There went up with him both chariots and horsemen. It was a very great company.
10 They came to the threshing floor of Atad, which is beyond the Jordan, and there they lamented with a very great and severe lamentation. He mourned for his father seven days.
11 When the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, “This is a grievous mourning by the Egyptians.” Therefore, its name was called Abel Mizraim, which is beyond the Jordan.
12 His sons did to him just as he commanded them,
13 for his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field, for a possession of a burial site, from Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.
14 Joseph returned into Egypt he, and his brothers, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.

15
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Joseph Reassures His Brothers. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “It may be that Joseph will hate us, and will fully pay us back for all of the evil which we did to him.”
16 They sent a message to Joseph, saying, “Your father commanded before he died, saying,
17 ‘You shall tell Joseph, “Now please forgive the disobedience of your brothers, and their sin, because they did evil to you.”’ Now, please forgive the disobedience of the servants of the ELOHIM of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him.
18 His brothers also went and fell down before his face; and they said, “Behold, we are your servants.”
19 Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for am I in the place of ELOHIM?
20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but ELOHIM meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.
21 Now therefore don’t be afraid. I will nourish you and your little ones.” He comforted them, and spoke kindly to them.

22
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Death of Joseph. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Joseph lived in Egypt, he, and his father’s house. Joseph lived one hundred ten years.
23 Joseph saw Ephraim’s children to the third generation. The children also of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were born on Joseph’s knees.
24 Joseph said to his brothers, “I am dying, but ELOHIM will surely visit you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”
25 Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, “ELOHIM will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.”
26 So Joseph died, being one hundred ten years old, and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.

Acts 3.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. A Lame Man Healed. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
2 A certain man who was lame from his mother’s womb was being carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Yafeh, to ask gifts for the needy of those who entered into the temple.
3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive gifts for the needy.
4 Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, “Look at us.”
5 He listened to them, expecting to receive something from them.
6 But Peter said, “Silver and gold have I none, but what I have, that I give you. In the name of YESHUA the Messiah of Nazareth, get up and walk!”
7 He took him by the right hand, and raised him up. Immediately his feet and his ankle bones received strength.
8 Leaping up, he stood, and began to walk. He entered with them into the temple, walking, leaping, and praising ELOHIM!
9 All the people saw him walking and praising ELOHIM!
10 They recognized him, that it was he who used to sit begging for gifts for the needy at the Yafeh Gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

11
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Preaching in Solomon's Portico. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

As the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
12 When Peter saw it, he responded to the people, “You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this man? Why do you fasten your eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk?
13 The ELOHIM of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the ELOHIM of our fathers, has glorified his Servant YESHUA, whom you delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
14 But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
15 and killed the Prince of life, whom ELOHIM raised from the dead, to which we are witnesses.
16 By faith in his name, his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
17 “Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
18 But the things which ELOHIM announced by the mouth of all his prophets, that Messiah should suffer, he thus fulfilled.
19 “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of ADONAI,
20 and that he may send Messiah YESHUA, who was ordained for you before,
21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which ELOHIM spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets.
22 For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘ADONAI ELOHIM will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.
23 It will be, that every soul that will not listen to that prophet will be utterly destroyed from among the people.’
24 Yes, and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days.
25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which ELOHIM made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘In your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.’
26 ELOHIM, having raised up his servant, YESHUA, sent him to you first, to bless you, in turning away everyone of you from your wickedness.”

Asara B' Tevet:

Morning & 3pm Readings:

Exodus 32:11-24.

11 Moses begged YAHWEH his ELOHIM, and said, “YAHWEH, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, that you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?
12 Why should the Egyptians speak, saying, ‘He brought them forth for evil, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the surface of the earth?’ Turn from your fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against your people.
13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, ‘I will multiply your seed as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.’”
14 YAHWEH repented of the evil which he said he would do to his people.
15 Moses turned, and went down from the mountain, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand; tablets that were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other they were written.
16 The tablets were the work of ELOHIM, and the writing was the writing of ELOHIM, engraved on the tables.
17 When Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, “There is the noise of war in the camp.”
18 He said, “It isn’t the voice of those who shout for victory, neither is it the voice of those who cry for being overcome; but the noise of those who sing that I hear.”
19 It happened, as soon as he came near to the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing: and Moses’ anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.
20 He took the calf which they had made, and burnt it with fire, ground it to powder, and scattered it on the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.
21 Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”
22 Aaron said, “Don’t let the anger of my master grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.
23 For they said to me, ‘Make us idol_gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’
24 I said to them, ‘Whoever has any gold, let them take it off:’ so they gave it to me; and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf.”

Exodus 34:1-10.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Moses Makes New Tablets. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

YAHWEH said to Moses, “Chisel two stone tablets like the first: and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.
2 Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain.
3 No one shall come up with you; neither let anyone be seen throughout all the mountain; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mountain.”
4 He chiseled two tablets of stone like the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to Mount Sinai, as YAHWEH had commanded him, and took in his hand two stone tablets.
5 YAHWEH descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of YAHWEH!
6 YAHWEH passed by before him, and proclaimed, “YAHWEH! YAHWEH, a merciful and gracious ELOHIM, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,
7 keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children’s children, on the third and on the fourth generation.”
8 Moses hurried and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.
9 He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, ADONAI, please let ADONAI go in the midst of us; although this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

He said, “Behold, I make a covenant: before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been worked in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among which you are shall see the work of YAHWEH; for it is an awesome thing that I do with you.

Saturday - 18-Dec-2010; (11-Tevet-5771); Shabbat - Parasha Vayechi - And He Lived.

Acts 4.

1 \Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Peter and John Arrested. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

As they spoke to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came to them,
2 being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in YESHUA the resurrection from the dead.
3 They laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was now evening.
4 But many of those who heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

5
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Addressing the Sanhedrin. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

It happened in the morning, that their rulers, elders, and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.
6 Annas the high priest was there, with Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and as many as were relatives of the high priest.
7 When they had stood them in the middle of them, they inquired, “By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed,
10 be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of YESHUA the Messiah of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom ELOHIM raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole.
11 He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’
12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”

13
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. The Name of YESHUA Forbidden. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with YESHUA!
14 Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we can’t deny it.
17 But so that this spreads no further among the people, let’s threaten them, that from now on they don’t speak to anyone in this name.”
18 They called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of YESHUA!
19 But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of ELOHIM to listen to you rather than to ELOHIM, judge for yourselves,
20 for we can’t help telling the things which we saw and heard.”
21 When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified ELOHIM for that which was done.
22 For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.

23
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Prayer for Boldness. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

Being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
24 When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to ELOHIM with one accord, and said, “O ADONAI, you are ELOHIM, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;
25 who by the mouth of your servant, David, said,  ‘Why do the nations rage,  and the peoples plot a vain thing?
26 The kings of the earth take a stand,  and the rulers take council together,  against ADONAI, and against his Messiah.’
27 “For truly, in this city against your holy servant, YESHUA, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together
28 to do whatever your hand and your council foreordained to happen.
29 Now, ADONAI, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,
30 while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant YESHUA!”
31 When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of ELOHIM with boldness.

32
\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnestLOW”\. Sharing in All Things. .\Vce=Speaker=“LeslieEarnest”\.

The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
33 With great power, the emissaries gave their testimony of the resurrection of ADONAI YESHUA! Great grace was on them all.
34 For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds
_ of the things that were sold,
35 and laid them at the emissaries’ feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.
36 Yosi, who by the emissaries was surnamed Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of Encouragement), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race,
37 having a field, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the emissaries’ feet.
